Extends existing threat protections to immediate family members (parents, spouses, and children) of state officials, local officials, deputy State's Attorneys, assistant State's Attorneys, and assistant Public Defenders

Prohibits knowingly and willfully threatening to kill, kidnap, or physically injure these family members, as well as sending or delivering such threats

Violations constitute a misdemeanor punishable by up to 3 years imprisonment, a fine up to $2,500, or both

Effective date: October 1, 2025
