Maryland Transportation Authority must study the feasibility of capturing only rear license plate images at video toll facilities, instead of both front and rear plates

Study must identify any system and equipment upgrades necessary to reliably capture rear license plate images

Study must assess potential impacts of switching from dual plate capture to rear-only capture

Authority must report findings and recommendations to the Governor and General Assembly by December 1, 2025

Effective date: July 1, 2025
