Reconstitutes the Task Force to Study Transparency Standards for State's Attorneys, which was originally established under Chapter 141 of the Acts of 2022 and expired June 30, 2024

Task Force membership includes 16 members: 2 senators, 2 delegates, 4 community members, representatives from the Maryland State's Attorneys' Association, Criminal Sentencing Policy Commission, Administrative Office of the Courts, Vera Institute of Justice, Attorney Grievance Commission, crime victims' advocacy, Governor's Office of Crime Prevention and Policy, Attorney General, Public Defender, and a data/transparency expert

Task Force must study minimum transparency standards for State's Attorneys, develop processes for prosecutors to collect and disclose information, examine existing office policies on data transparency and charging/sentencing, and identify sustainable funding sources for implementation

Annual reports due to the Senate Judicial Proceedings Committee and House Judiciary Committee by December 31 each year, beginning December 31, 2025

Takes effect July 1, 2025 and automatically sunsets on June 30, 2028 (3-year duration)
