Maryland Department of Education must develop and offer a continuing professional development course on student well-being and flourishing by July 1, 2026

Course must be available to all school personnel and administrators through asynchronous instruction at rates comparable to other professional development courses

Curriculum covers the eight dimensions of well-being identified by SAMHSA: social, environmental, physical, emotional, spiritual, occupational, intellectual, and financial

Each dimension includes pedagogical approaches for classroom application, such as building student friendships, outdoor learning, physical health habits, and financial literacy

Act takes effect July 1, 2025
