Department of General Services may add a veteran status notation to security identification cards issued to state employees, contractors, lobbyists, media personnel, local government officials, and volunteers upon presentation of acceptable documentation (DD Form 214 or certification from Department of Veterans and Military Families)

Applications for identification cards must include an option for applicants to indicate veteran status and consent to being contacted by executive agencies about eligibility for state or federal veterans' benefits

Department must obtain cardholder consent before transmitting veteran status information to executive agencies and is prohibited from sharing veteran-related application information without such consent

Department may limit veteran notation availability to certain categories of identification card holders and may adopt regulations to implement the program
