Persons currently subject to a court-ordered assisted outpatient treatment order under § 10–6A–08 of the Health – General Article would be prohibited from possessing regulated firearms, rifles, or shotguns

Courts must promptly report to the FBI's National Instant Criminal Background Check System (NICS Index) when ordering a person to comply with assisted outpatient treatment, including the person's name, identifying information, and date of the order

The prohibition applies only while the assisted outpatient treatment order remains in effect; once the order ends, the firearm restriction would no longer apply

Effective date is July 1, 2025, contingent on Chapter 704 of the Acts of 2024 taking effect; the bill will automatically terminate if that chapter's termination provision takes effect
