Anne Arundel County Board of Education may operate all county schools using a scheduling model that eliminates early dismissal days, allowing for fewer than 180 school days if minimum hours of attendance (as defined under COMAR 13A.03.02.12 effective July 1, 2025) are met

If the county adopts this alternative scheduling model, it must apply to all schools in the county, not just select schools

School employees paid at an hourly rate must be offered an opportunity to make up lost wages through other duties before the next school year begins

The Board must report to the State Department of Education and General Assembly by June 30, 2026 and June 30, 2027 on schools using the alternative schedule, including days open and hours per day with students in attendance

The Act takes effect July 1, 2025 and automatically sunsets on June 30, 2027 without further legislative action
