Employers with 50+ employees must provide at least 12 hours of paid parental school engagement leave per school year for employees to attend school meetings and conferences for their child

Eligible employees must have worked for the employer at least 6 consecutive months and work at least 50% of full-time equivalent hours

Leave must be paid at the employee's regular rate, kept separate from other leave benefits, and employers cannot require employees to exhaust other leave first; unused leave does not carry over or require payout upon termination

Employees must provide 4 days written notice for foreseeable leave and submit documentation from the school within 2 business days after attending; employers may limit leave to 4 hours at a time

Non-compliant employers face civil penalties up to $100 per affected employee; effective date is October 1, 2025
