Law enforcement agencies providing courthouse security must submit a report to the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of Maryland by September 30, 2025, detailing current staffing levels, minimum officers needed to meet security standards, funded positions, vacancies, implementation plans, and obstacles

Court security officers must meet the qualifications for a special police officer under Title 3, Subtitle 3 of the Public Safety Article

Reports must account for staffing sufficient to ensure at least one officer per court proceeding, at least two officers when an incarcerated individual is present, and one additional officer for every four courtrooms on each courthouse floor

Act takes effect July 1, 2025, and was approved by Governor Wes Moore on April 22, 2025
