Establishes a presumption that applying standard child support guidelines would be unjust or inappropriate when parents have mutually agreed to a different amount and both assert the agreement is in the child's best interest

Amends Maryland Family Law Section 12-202(a) to give greater weight to parental agreements that depart from the state's child support calculation formula

Courts must still make written findings when departing from guidelines, including the guideline amount, how the order varies, and how the departure serves the child's best interests

Effective date: October 1, 2025
