Funds must be used solely as operating grants to eligible community action agencies in Maryland

Community action agencies combat poverty by focusing resources on the most needy, providing employment opportunities for low-income persons, closing service gaps, and enabling low-income participation in programs

Act takes effect July 1, 2025 and automatically expires on June 30, 2032
