Beginning in the 2026-2027 school year, county boards of education must allow completion of eligible financial literacy courses to count toward the student service hours requirement for high school graduation

Eligible financial literacy courses must be offered at an institution of higher education, offered by an organization approved by the county board, and approved by the county board itself

Each county board determines the number of service hours that a completed financial literacy course will satisfy

The State Board of Education is required to adopt regulations to implement this section

The act takes effect July 1, 2025
