Prohibits electric companies from using eminent domain (condemnation) to acquire property for constructing power lines or generating stations that produce electricity from wind or solar energy

Bars the State of Maryland, its instrumentalities, and political subdivisions from acquiring by condemnation any property encumbered by a conservation easement

Prevents government entities from condemning property that will be used for power line construction or wind/solar generating stations

Conservation easements protected under the bill include those held by the Maryland Environmental Trust, Maryland Historical Trust, Maryland Agricultural Land Preservation Foundation, Department of Natural Resources, counties/municipalities with certain funding, and land trusts

Takes effect October 1, 2025
