Increases the required classroom teaching time for teachers on levels one, two, or three of Maryland's career ladder from 60% to 80% of their working time

Applies to State certified teachers (level one), teachers pursuing master's degrees or National Board Certification (level two), and NBC teachers or assistant principals (level three)

Remaining 20% of working time may be spent on other activities including improving instruction, tutoring students, working with challenging students or those in concentrated poverty, and professional learning

Effective date: July 1, 2025
