Creates an enhanced disability benefit for Law Enforcement Officers' Pension System and State Police Retirement System members who suffer catastrophic injuries in the line of duty, defined as being unable to engage in any substantial gainful activity under Internal Revenue Code § 72(m)(7)

Increases the pension component from two-thirds (66.7%) to 100% of average final compensation for members certified with catastrophic disabilities, plus the actuarial equivalent of accumulated contributions

Expands eligibility criteria for accidental disability retirement to include members who meet the IRC § 72(m)(7) disability standard, in addition to those totally incapacitated for duty

Prohibits members receiving the enhanced catastrophic injury benefit from also receiving the standard disability allowance under existing provisions

Takes effect July 1, 2025
