County boards of education must pay education support professionals a minimum wage of $25.00 per hour beginning July 1, 2025

Education support professionals are defined as noncertificated public school employees in nonsupervisory bargaining units (such as paraprofessionals, custodians, and cafeteria workers)

Starting July 1, 2026, the minimum wage will increase annually based on the Consumer Price Index for All Urban Consumers published by the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics

If the Consumer Price Index shows no growth or a decline, the minimum wage remains unchanged from the prior year

The State Board of Education may adopt regulations to implement the new wage requirements; the act takes effect June 1, 2025
