Local boards of elections must include a written notice about requesting a State-approved absentee ballot application with specimen ballots and other mailings sent to voters to promote awareness of mail-in voting options

The notice requirement does not apply to voters who already have permanent absentee ballot status or to any voter more than once per election

The notice requirement does not apply to vote-by-mail elections

Effective October 1, 2025
