Frederick County's Director of Human Resources may request State and national criminal history records checks for prospective or current county employees and volunteers through the Criminal Justice Information System Central Repository.

Applications require two complete sets of legible fingerprints on approved forms, the fee for Maryland criminal history records access, and the FBI's mandatory processing fee for national checks.

Criminal history record information obtained is confidential, cannot be redisseminated, and may only be used for personnel-related purposes concerning the employee or volunteer.

Individuals subject to a records check may contest the contents of the printed statement issued by the Central Repository.
