Merchants may round cash transaction totals to the nearest 5 cents: prices ending in 1, 2, 6, or 7 cents round down; prices ending in 3, 4, 8, or 9 cents round up

Employers may apply the same rounding rules when paying wages in cash

Transactions paid with exact change are exempt from the rounding provisions

For transactions totaling less than 5 cents, merchants may round up to 5 cents

Designated as an emergency bill, taking effect immediately upon enactment and preempting any conflicting local regulations, rules, or ordinances
