Public high schools may allow homeschool students to participate in interscholastic athletic activities to the same extent as enrolled students, though enrolled students receive placement priority when spaces are limited.

Homeschool students must participate at the public high school they would be assigned to attend, or at a geographically proximate school as determined by the county board.

Students who withdraw from public school to begin homeschooling are ineligible for athletics if they were subject to disciplinary action that would have barred participation.

Participating homeschool students must follow the same insurance, health, immunization, conduct, and safety requirements as enrolled students, but are responsible for their own transportation.
