Teachers with 10-year National Board Certifications (NBCs) awarded on or before December 31, 2021, with expiration dates between January 1, 2016, and December 31, 2031, are now eligible for career ladder salary increases upon renewal and subsequent maintenance of certification.

Salary increases for 10-year NBC holders include: $8,000 for earned renewal, $7,000 for first maintenance (5 years after renewal), and $6,000 for second maintenance.

Teachers with standard 5-year NBCs continue to receive: $8,000 for first maintenance, $7,000 for second maintenance, and $6,000 for third maintenance.

The act applies retroactively to any teacher salary increases associated with the career ladder for NBC holders on or before July 1, 2026.

Effective date is July 1, 2026.
