Eliminates the earnings offset that currently reduces retirement allowances for Correctional Officers' Retirement System retirees who return to work with a participating employer

Removes the requirement for retirees to report their anticipated compensation to the Board of Trustees when accepting reemployment; only notification of intent to accept employment remains required

Repeals provisions that limited earnings offset exemptions to specific categories such as retirees who had been retired for 5+ years, those in elected positions, or those rehired as correctional officers for up to 4 years

Eliminates annual reporting requirements for the Department of Public Safety and Correctional Services to submit data on rehired retirees to the Joint Committee on Pensions

Takes effect July 1, 2026
