Registered vehicle owners undergoing cancer treatment would be exempt from paying electronic and video tolls on Maryland Transportation Authority facilities

Exemption applies when the vehicle is operated by the registered owner or by someone transporting the registered owner between scheduled cancer treatments

Owner must provide medical documentation from a licensed health care provider to the Maryland Transportation Authority by the date stated on the toll notice to qualify for the exemption

Amends Section 21-1414 of the Transportation Article to add cancer treatment as a new exemption category alongside existing exemptions for stolen vehicles and unauthorized operators

Effective date: October 1, 2026
