Certified recovery residences in Maryland would be prohibited from refusing services to individuals receiving medication-assisted treatment (MAT) for opioid use disorder

Recovery residences could not require individuals to stop or modify their medication-assisted treatment as a condition of receiving housing services

Credentialing entities that certify recovery residences must include these prohibitions in their certification requirements

Applies to recovery residences that provide alcohol-free and drug-free housing to individuals with substance-related or addictive disorders, but do not provide clinical treatment services

Effective date: October 1, 2026
