Removes the Secretary of Human Services' authority to appoint the executive director of the Maryland Commission for Women and designates the position as not a special appointee

Expands the Commission's scope from strengthening "home life" to addressing conditions for women "in and out of the home"

Adds new duties including advocating for wage equality legislation, promoting women's leadership and networking opportunities, offering programs on career development, financial wellness, and violence prevention

Removes specific duties related to recommending methods to overcome employment discrimination and encouraging women to run for public office, replacing them with broader policy support language

Takes effect October 1, 2026
