Mandated abuse reporters (health practitioners, police officers, educators, human service workers) may report suspected child sex trafficking or labor trafficking to regional navigators when necessary to prevent serious harm to children

Reports to regional navigators may be made without the child's consent and over the child's express objection

State's Attorneys and the Attorney General are authorized to investigate and prosecute human trafficking violations under the Criminal Law subtitle

When the Attorney General exercises prosecution authority, they assume all powers and duties of a State's Attorney for that case
