Parents of children with disabilities must receive written notice when IEP services are not initiated by the scheduled start date or are missed, incomplete, or interrupted by the school system (excludes absences due to the child missing school)

Notification triggers include: 5 missed instances within 10 consecutive school days for daily services; missed services over a period at least twice as long as the specified service interval; or any pattern that substantially limits service delivery

Written notice must be sent to parents within 3 school days of a triggering condition being met

Notice must explain what service was missed and why, describe steps the school system will take to resume proper service delivery, and inform parents how to request an IEP meeting to discuss compensatory services, alternative methods, or dispute resolution options
