Licensed crab catchers without a seafood dealer license are prohibited from selling cooked hard or soft crabs or crab meat they harvest

"Mobile seafood vendor" is defined as anyone selling seafood outdoors on foot, from vehicles/conveyances, or from tents, temporary stands, roadside markets, or other non-established business locations

Mobile seafood vendors must obtain a seafood dealer license and are prohibited from purchasing cooked crabs or crab meat from crab catchers who lack a seafood dealer license

Seafood dealers are prohibited from purchasing cooked crabs or crab meat from licensed crab catchers who do not also hold a seafood dealer license

Both mobile seafood vendors and seafood dealers must comply with Maryland Department of Health requirements; effective date is June 1, 2026
