Motor vehicles model year 2000 or later that were previously registered as Class L (historic) vehicles are exempt from Maryland's Vehicle Emissions Inspection Program

These formerly historic vehicles may be insured using specialty insurance policies designed for historic, show, or antique vehicles

A $30 fee is imposed every 2 years on each vehicle that qualifies for the emissions inspection exemption

Fee revenue is credited to the Transportation Trust Fund
