Charles County Board of Education must provide 45 days written notice and hold a public hearing before displacing any company currently providing student bus transportation services

Public hearing notice must be published in a local newspaper once weekly for 2 successive weeks before the hearing

Board must provide at least 2 years advance written notice by registered mail before any displacement takes effect

Displacement can occur in less than 2 years if the Board pays the displaced company an amount equal to 24 months of gross receipts, or if both parties agree to different terms

Exceptions apply when a contract is not renewed for cause, the company threatens public health/safety, commits material breach, or refuses to continue services under existing agreement terms
