Establishes a Workgroup to Study Extreme Risk Protective Orders, chaired by the Secretary of Health with staff support from the Department of Health

Workgroup membership includes designees from the Secretary of Health, Attorney General, Public Defender, Maryland Chiefs of Police Association, Maryland Sheriffs' Association, and one Governor-appointed mental health organization representative

Workgroup must study the use of extreme risk protective orders in Maryland and develop policy recommendations for improving their use

Report with findings and recommendations due to the Governor and General Assembly by May 1, 2027

Takes effect June 1, 2026 and automatically sunsets on June 30, 2028
