Custodians must allow inspectors general created by state or local law to inspect public records, including those otherwise privileged or confidential, when state or local law authorizes their access and the records are needed to perform their duties

Overrides existing Public Information Act exemptions that would normally permit custodians to deny inspection of privileged or confidential records

Any redisclosure by an inspector general of records obtained under this provision remains subject to all existing Public Information Act restrictions
