HB 246 - Video Tolls: Class G (Trailer) Vehicles - Liability

• Registered owners of Class G (trailer) vehicles become liable for unpaid video tolls when the registered owner of the towing motor vehicle cannot be determined
• Trailer owners may transfer liability by providing documentation identifying the person operating the tow vehicle, including name, address, and driver's license number, by the date stated on the notice of toll due
• Expands existing video toll enforcement definitions and procedures to include Class G trailers and semitrailers alongside motor vehicles
• Administration may refuse or suspend trailer registration for unpaid toll violations, following the same citation and appeal procedures that apply to motor vehicles
• Effective date: January 1, 2027
