Child Support Administration may secure assignment to the State of support rights for children receiving foster care maintenance payments only in limited circumstances where the Administration finds it appropriate

Administration may discontinue assignments of support rights and terminate existing child support orders for children receiving foster care maintenance payments when appropriate

Courts must terminate previously established or assigned child support orders for children receiving foster care maintenance payments without requiring a showing of material change of circumstance, upon filing by the Child Support Administration, local office, or local department

Secretary of Human Services required to adopt rules and regulations to implement these provisions

Effective date: October 1, 2026
