Maryland Center for School Safety must develop and administer a statewide anonymous reporting system for school and student safety concerns, with mechanisms to forward reports to school officials or appropriate response personnel

All local school systems must participate in the anonymous reporting system beginning July 1, 2027, unless they already operate a substantially similar system and notify the Center by December 1, 2026

The Center must develop operational guidelines and procedures for the system and provide training sessions for school personnel on navigating it

Information and materials related to the anonymous reporting system are exempt from public records inspection requirements

The act takes effect July 1, 2026
