Prince George's County governing body gains authority to enact local laws regulating procurement activities of Prince George's County Public Schools and Prince George's Community College

County may establish participation requirements and goals for prime contracting and subcontracting with county-based businesses, minority business enterprises, small businesses, and locally owned businesses

Procurement incentives authorized include bid bonuses, discounts, and incentive payments for utilization of qualifying county-based businesses

County may set percentage requirements or goals for work hours to be performed by county residents or economically disadvantaged individuals

Both the Board of Education and Board of Community College Trustees must comply with any local procurement laws enacted by the county; effective date October 1, 2026
