Prohibits detaining or confining any child, including those subject to adult criminal court jurisdiction, in any institution where they have contact with or come within sight or sound of incarcerated adults

Bars children arrested, convicted, or awaiting trial under adult criminal court jurisdiction from being held in adult correctional facilities

Allows temporary holding of a child in an adult facility for processing only if separated by sight and sound from adults and held for no more than 6 hours (including transport time to the nearest juvenile facility)

Prohibits transporting children together with adults who have been charged with or convicted of a crime, removing the prior exception for children being tried as adults
