Nurse midwives and licensed certified midwives must notify patients in writing if they lack professional liability insurance, both at the first patient visit and as part of each informed consent before procedures

Facilities and midwives without coverage must post visible notices in conspicuous locations informing residents, guests, or patients of the lack of professional liability insurance

All notifications must be signed by the resident or patient and retained as part of facility or provider records
