Election judges must require voters to present either a valid government-issued photo ID, or a valid non-government-issued photo ID combined with a current utility bill, bank statement, paycheck, or government document showing the voter's name and address

Voters unable to provide the required identification must vote by provisional ballot under § 9–404

Knowingly and willfully voting or attempting to vote under a false form of identification is prohibited and added to existing election fraud offenses

Violations constitute a misdemeanor punishable by a fine up to $5,000, imprisonment up to 5 years, or both
