Department of Juvenile Services prohibited from knowingly hiring or retaining individuals convicted of serious violent and sexual crimes including murder, manslaughter (except involuntary), rape, kidnapping, abduction, and first-degree assault

Sexual offenses barred include first and second degree sexual offense, child abuse in the first degree, sexual abuse of a minor, and felony offenses under Title 3, Subtitle 11 of the Criminal Law Article

Assault-related disqualifying convictions include assault with intent to murder, assault with intent to rape, and assault with intent to commit first or second degree sexual offense

Exception allows the Department to hire or retain an individual if the judgment of conviction was reversed or vacated
