Extends the duration of temporary protective orders from 7 days to 14 days after service of the order

Extends the deadline for holding final protective order hearings from 7 days to 14 days after service of the temporary order

Authorizes courts to order respondents to pay abuse-related losses and expenses, including medical/dental/mental health costs, property repair or replacement, food, shelter, relocation, transportation, filing fees, court costs, and attorney's fees

Preserves petitioners' right to bring subsequent claims for additional losses or expenses not awarded in the final protective order

Takes effect October 1, 2026
