Maryland Department of the Environment must report to the General Assembly on changes in federal environmental policy starting July 1, 2026, and every 6 months thereafter

Reports must cover federal policy changes deemed legally valid by federal court decisions, including rescission of greenhouse gas endangerment findings, repeal of vehicle or stationary source emissions standards, and impacts to federally delegated authority

Initial report must describe federal environmental policy changes occurring since January 1, 2024; subsequent reports cover the preceding 6-month period

State must report on steps Maryland is taking in response to any reported federal policy changes

Act takes effect June 1, 2026 and automatically sunsets on May 31, 2029 (3-year duration)
