Veterans service organizations receive civil liability immunity when receiving unclaimed hydrolyzed or soil remains of veterans or their eligible dependents for disposition purposes, provided they act in good faith

Expands existing immunity protections that previously covered only cremated remains to now include remains from natural organic reduction (the accelerated conversion of human remains into soil)

Effective date: October 1, 2026
