Requires Dorchester County local detention center officers to join the Correctional Officers' Retirement System if the county becomes a participating governmental unit

Allows affected officers to receive eligibility and creditable service credit for their employment with Dorchester County prior to the effective date

Terminates membership in the Employees' Pension System for officers who transfer to the Correctional Officers' Retirement System, with no further rights to benefits under the old system

Exempts the transfer of creditable service from the standard provisions of Title 37 governing such transfers

Takes effect June 1, 2026
