Prohibits employers from disciplining, discharging, or discriminating against fire and rescue public safety employees who hold a valid written certification for medical cannabis or who test positive for cannabis while holding such certification

Defines "fire and rescue public safety employee" as firefighters, emergency medical technicians, cardiac rescue technicians, or paramedics employed by municipal corporations, counties, the State, the State Airport Authority, or fire control districts

Preserves employer authority to prohibit employees from using cannabis while on duty and to adopt policies preventing employees from performing duties while impaired by cannabis

Requires employers to report incidents to the State Emergency Medical Services Board when a fire and rescue public safety employee reports to work while impaired by cannabis

Takes effect October 1, 2026
