State Board of Education must establish a financial literacy graduation requirement aligned with state Personal Financial Literacy Education Grades 3-12 Standards

Course must be at least 1 semester in length, taught in grades 11 or 12, and offered as a standalone course (not embedded in other coursework)

Requirement applies beginning with the graduating class of 2030; students earn at least one-half credit toward their diploma upon completion

County boards retain authority to determine curriculum, instructional materials, and departmental placement of the course

Effective date: July 1, 2026
