Maryland Department of Health must immediately notify the local health department when initiating an investigation of a nursing home complaint alleging actual harm to a resident

The Department must consult and coordinate with the local health officer on the complaint investigation and response, to the extent practicable within existing timeframes

Existing law requires complaints alleging actual harm to be investigated within 10 business days, and complaints alleging immediate jeopardy within 48 hours (with efforts to investigate within 24 hours)
