Maryland General Assembly condemns Russia's actions in Ukraine and declares that the abduction and forcible transfer of Ukrainian children, along with facilitation of illegal adoptions, constitutes genocide under the Genocide Convention

More than 260,000 Ukrainian children have been abducted by Russia according to U.S. intelligence estimates cited in the resolution, with between 900,000 and 1,600,000 Ukrainians subjected to filtration operations resulting in disappearance, detention, or forcible deportation

Yale School of Public Health identified at least 32 facilities in Russia-occupied Crimea or Russia involved in systematic re-education of Ukrainian children covering academic, cultural, patriotic, and military indoctrination

Resolution holds the Russian government under Vladimir Putin responsible for wrongful abduction, forced transfer, illegal adoption, and indoctrination of Ukrainian children

Copies of the resolution to be forwarded to the Governor of Maryland, President of the Senate, and Speaker of the House of Delegates
