State Highway Administration must approve, deny, or return as incomplete any county application to use a speed monitoring system on a State highway within 90 days of receipt

Applications not acted upon within the 90-day deadline are automatically deemed approved

Speed monitoring systems are defined as devices that record images of vehicles traveling at least 12 miles per hour above the posted speed limit

Counties must still obtain SHA approval, notify the affected municipal corporation, and give municipalities 60 days to enact their own ordinance for the location
