Maryland Motor Vehicle Administration may issue warnings to state residents who have vehicles improperly registered in another state, requiring them to register in Maryland or prove exemption within 60 days

Vehicle owners who fail to comply within 60 days face a civil fine of $7 per day for up to 60 additional days (maximum $420)

After 120 days of non-compliance, the Administration must notify local jurisdictions, and county State's Attorneys may bring civil actions in rem against the vehicle

Enforcement actions may include immobilization of the vehicle through towing, impoundment, or booting
